Enjoy this beautiful handmade school backpack made by Jeanette, a refugee coming from Rwanda. A school backpack is way more than an accessory or a carrying tool. It is a symbol. It symbolizes education, the right of every child to have a school backpack because they have the universal right to go to school. For JRS, and for the Jesuit community as a whole, the right to education is a fundamental right. Education is the most powerful tool to train our thinking capacity and our skills: by being a free thinker we’ll be free and owners of our own choices; and by training our skills we'll learn to make a living out of it, what will allow us to be independent and self-resilient.
